Our Story & FAQs
The Buffalo Legacy was created to honor family history and give back.
I am a descendant of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana, and my family history is connected to the buffalo and the people who depended on them for survival. Generations ago, many families from what is now Canada moved into the United States as the buffalo population rapidly declined in the late 1800s.
For those who lived on the plains, the buffalo was central to life. It provided food, clothing, tools, and other materials necessary for survival. The buffalo also represents strength, resilience, and a deep connection to the land.
This project was created as a way to recognize that history and honor the lasting legacy of the buffalo. The design reflects the strength and endurance that the buffalo represents and the role it played in the lives of many families across the plains.
Each shirt is carefully prepared and personally checked for quality before being shipped to customers.
Half of the profits from shirt sales are donated each month to organizations and causes that support culture, history, and positive change. The organization receiving the donation may change each month so that different efforts can be supported. The remaining half helps cover the costs of producing the shirts, shipping, website expenses, and maintaining the project.
This project is a small way to honor the past while giving back in the present.
